Originally known as Overseas Hardwood Lumber Company, Alter acquired the facility and property around the time of Hurricane Katrina and started developing the new metal recycling facility in January 2006. Operations began in August 2006 with a new automobile shredder in place. You'll find Mobile is a state-of-the-art yard with concrete in all unloading areas and around the state-of-the-art shredder. We accept all grades of ferrous and nonferrous metals.

We also provide industrial programs for suppliers of scrap metal and provide on-site 30 yard roll-off container services for storage and pick-up.
